On Thursday afternoon we were very surprised by a sudden and intense rain, wind, thunder, and lightening storm. There was also hail for a few minutes. This is so rare that the boys were excited to play outside for a while.
On Friday we saw the aftermath of the short but powerful storm. Above is the road outside our compound. It is not a lake and, yes, we did drive through in our Landcruiser. And below is the parking lot at Qatar Foundation. The canopy is for shade and obviously not built to withstand heavy rain and wind. Hundreds of cars will have to find another spot for school tomorrow!
